A New Post....finally

So, I figured I'd wait a good, oh, year and a half before updating my blog. Just to keep all of you guessing. Wild Sarah, you never know what she's gonna do next!! So anyhow, yeah, it's been a year or so. There are a few things that have happened...just a couple.

-I got pneumonia (got? caught? I'm not sure which is appropriate)

-When getting diagnosed with aforementioned pneumonia, I found out I was pregnant (yay!)

-We moved from the creepy (but large) apartment next to a man named Grubby and into a cute (but tiny) cabin with a 3 acre backyard and animals living in the attic

-Nate had his major knee surgery (replaced a chunk of his cartilage with his own that was grown in a lab and had a cadaver-gram on his ACL) and was on crutches for quite a long time

-Our little boy, Oliver was born on Feb. 15th, 2010. He looked like an adorable grouchy old man and had an attitude to match

-The first few months of life with Oliver were really, really hard. He had colic, a dairy and soy intolerance, and silent reflux. He cried for most of every day.

-I got a hematoma above my c-section incision and had to have surgery to have it drained. My OB was an ass, so I ended up getting it done in Marquette.

-Nate was able to walk/work again. yay!!

-My Postpartum Depression came back with a vengeance. It was bad. I try not to think too much about this time.

-The boys and I came to stay with my folks for a while, Nate went back to work

-Nate worked for two days and his knee went crazy, swelled up and he couldn't walk, again

-His doctor gave him a 10 lb. weight limit and told him he could not work

-His worker's comp. insurance disagreed with this and cut him off

-Now that we had no income, Nate could not get a job (due to his weight restriction) and I could not get a job (because Nate couldn't be home alone with the boys), we had to move...again

-We moved into my parents' house and are living here now

-Nate has had a few job possibilities come and go, and is now hired into a call center. We are all hoping this one sticks

-Oliver is much less grumpy, now that I don't eat dairy (I would kill for some ice cream, though!) and now that he's outgrown his colic. He is sitting up, rolling over, eating solids and trying to crawl. He's six months old and cute as a button.

-Corbin is 3 now, and a stinker and a half. He's really good with computers (he loves playing games on Sprout.com) and is so, so funny. He's potty trained and starts preschool in two weeks.

-Today is our five year anniversary. Nate and I have gone through some rough times, and we know there are more ahead. But we've stayed close through all of it and are thankful to be able to enjoy our time with our boys and each other.

So yeah, that's about it. There were some other things that happened as well (lots of visiting with friends and family!) but I can't go on all day. The post below this has a bunch of Oliver's 6 months pictures...hopefully it works this time.

I'll try to post again within the year...but I can't make any promises. Gotta keep you on your toes!!
